Scholarships

This year, the Cecil Soil Conservation District decided to handle its scholarships a little differently. The District partnered with Cecil College and the Cecil County School of Technology by providing scholarship donations to each institution. Cecil College awarded the Edgar “Duty” Hevelow Memorial Scholarship, while the Cecil County School of Technology awarded the Floyd Allred Memorial Scholarship. The third scholarship, the Paul Raech Memorial Scholarship, was advertised and managed in-house. The District plans to continue these partnerships with the educational institutions, as they provided better outreach and resulted in a higher volume of applicants.
